The Californians these West Side Coast Natives were bred in Southern California in 1928. Their looks are the same just like the Himalayan rabbit. The Californian weighs seven to ten pounds. Their fur coat is short haired. The Californian temperament is easy going laid back attitude of their home turf. These big guys make great pets. The Californians health concerns would be they need extra space to move around in and to get them moving. Also keep the temperature steady and moderate for these rabbits to thrive.

The American Checkered Giant with their patterned coat are an energetic breed that comes in black, white or blue and white. The American Checkered Giant weighs twelve to sixteen pounds and are really active. Their health concern would be sore feet.

The Beveren is a large rabbit that weighs about ten pounds. The Beveren has a thick silky fur coat. Their fur is medium length and they have a slightly arched back. The Beveren was developed in Europe and comes in the colors of white, blue and black.

The Giant Chinchilla is the largest rabbit breed in this family and they are bred. Between the Flemish Giants and a smaller Chinchilla. The Giant Chinchilla makes a nice large pet. They weigh fourteen pounds.
