Lion Head Breeds

The Lion Heads mane gene is dominant mutation and the gene has to be carried by one one of the parents. The Lion Head breeds was created by crossing a miniature Swiss fox and a Belgian Dwarf. The Lion Head breeds was first bred in Belgium in the early 1990's. The American version of the Lion Head has straight ears. The Lion Head breeds also comes lop ears. The Lion Head lops are  a lop rabbit with a mane around their head, neck and ears. The Lion Head lops is a hybrid rabbit created by crossing a Lion Head rabbit with a Holland Lop. Lion Head crossed with a Mini Rex are referred to as a Velvet Lion Head.
